How does wireless work?

Two basic modes – Ad hoc (peer to peer)and Infrastructure (AP)
Ad hoc has an independent basic service set
Infrastructure has a basic service set identified by the Service Set ID (SSID)
Access Points implement a 802.3D Ethernet bridge to connect the wired and wireless networks together
